How to Access Awazon Market Over Tor
Getting onto Awazon Market takes five steps and about ten minutes the first time. This is the full path, from a clean machine to a funded account, with the specific checks that keep you from landing on a copy of the market instead of the market itself.
Step one, install the Tor Browser
Download the Tor Browser from the Tor Project's own site, not from a search result that merely mentions it. The Tor Project publishes installers for Windows, macOS and Linux on a single page. Pick the one that matches your machine. The only reliable check is the address bar showing the Tor Project domain, because typosquats around that domain have hosted backdoored installers before. Accept the default install path and let it finish. The first launch shows a Connect button. Click it and wait ten to thirty seconds while the browser builds a connection.
Step two, set the security slider to Safer
Open the shield icon in the toolbar and choose Safer. That setting disables JavaScript and a handful of font and image features that have been used in fingerprinting. The Awazon storefront is built to function with scripting off, so you do not need to loosen this to log in, browse, deposit or order. Leaving it on Safer every time is the single habit that prevents the most common fingerprinting leaks.
Step three, copy a verified mirror
Go to the mirror list and use the copy button on any row. Paste the full address into the Tor Browser address bar and press enter. The first contact with an onion service adds a noticeable pause while a fresh circuit is built. That pause is normal. An instant open from a brand new circuit is the thing to be suspicious of, not the slow one.
Step four, verify the address bar
When the page loads, confirm the address begins with awazon and match the last
six characters against what you copied. If anything looks off, a different number, an
extra letter, a strange ending, close the tab and start again. The Tor Browser does not
auto correct onion addresses, so a mismatch means an intermediate app rewrote the string
on the way, which is worth fixing before you continue.
Step five, register and turn on two factor
On the login screen, sign in if you have an account or click register to make one. Choose a long passphrase, four or five random words separated by spaces is the friendlier shape, and write down the mnemonic the registration page shows you exactly once. That mnemonic is the only recovery path. The storefront cannot restore an account for you out of band, so the seed belongs on paper or in an encrypted file on a separate device, not in a photo on the same phone you use to log in. Turn on two factor login the moment you register. It accepts a standard authenticator code and a PGP challenge as a backup, and it is the line of defense against a password you reused somewhere else.
When it goes wrong
The most common stumble is opening the mirror in a regular browser by accident. It fails with a generic DNS error because regular browsers do not resolve onions. Switch to the Tor Browser tab and paste there. The second is a stuck connection on a fresh install, which clears by closing and reopening the browser. The third is a typo introduced by a notes app between copy and paste, which the direct copy to the address bar avoids entirely.
